Bad hair cut and desperate?

I went to a new hair dresser for color three weeks ago, and walked out with about 5 inches cut off the top layer of my previously one-length hair. Went back for a fix and it was even worse, finally went to someone else who managed to even it out but says I'll just have to wait for the "layer" to grow out. Two weeks later I'm still close to tears when I look in the mirror - and can't figure out how to style the stupid thing which is wavy underneath and bone straight on the top. Anyone with similar experience and advice on how to style, manage and most of all how long it took to grow out?

well...that happened to me once too. thie first thing is that YOU CANT GET STRESSED OUT! that makes it worse! you have to stay "calm" and think that its ONLY HAIR and that it WILL grow back SOONER THAN YOU THINK! and a way to style it, is straighten it and wear it down, maybe with a cute stylish headband, you can wear it half up half down, and maybe even curl a couple of pieces. im pretty sure it'll work! i hope i helped!

Straighten thw whole thing so it's even. You could get extensions if it's really horrible. Then there are always hats! lol but seriously I have had some bad haircuts...I just use bobby pins to kee it up and more normal-looking, and wait for my hair to grow! Don't worry it normally grows out pretty fast...

Try using headbands and pull the hair away from your face. Another to do would be to straighten the rest of your hair. Depending on how fast your hair grows, it could take as little as another week or another couple of weeks.

I'm sorry to hear about your hair disaster. It would be hard to tell you how to work with your hair without seeing you. I recommend shopping around for a hairstylist you can trust and just ask them for ideas. Don't let them cut your hair just ask for styling advice. You might try straightening your hair with a flatiron to even out the texture. That might help.

Gosh that is the worst!! Note to self NEVER go back for them to "fix" it if they screwed it up in the first try....this only means they will do it again...it wasnt a accident the hairdresser just cant cut hair lol....you should have some control after about six weeks or so and them for now i would say flat iron it all so its all straight instead of 1/2 and 1/2 good luck

straighten the whole thing or wear it up in a pony tail. and don't worry your hair will grow back. massage your head twice a day with your finger tips. this will help the circulation in your head and make your hair grow faster. i'm sorry about your situation :( i've gotten a bad hair cut before and it really sucks. good luck

Use an inexpensive hair piece or hair lenghtener or even more than one and make your hair into an updo until it grows out.

Everyone has a horror story. But this really will help,just for fun go to a good wig shop sound yucky! They are not like our Grandmas or moms, they are so real looking and youll love it and they can be cut close enuf to your style no one will know, but you need a good one they are about 150.00 and up but you should just go look.
